My mate Bill lived for music,he was a talented singer, guitarist,and songwriter, he could have gone far In the music buisness If It hadent been for his other main passion and love in life "Alcohol" .
I first met him In about 1992,He helped teach me the Guitar And while working together for a short while (east Bham Hospt) and thanks to our similar love for music (Beatles!) and our similar sense of humour and Interlect we soon became firm friends.
To cut a very long but Interesting story short Bill Dded Suddenly at Just 52 While Holidaying alone on the Greek Island of Crete on the 29th july 2007.
I for one will never forget William Andrew Ridge!, at Times I Could have Killed him myself with my bare Hands( at times?) ,but through his kindness and friendship he bestowed on me I regarded him then (as I do now ) closer to me than any one of my own brothers ! -- r I p my friend.
-- ps - Bill died on Crete and has been left there, he has no grave or Headstone,he died from Cirrhosis of the liver,
( also his surname at birth was Twyford.)

i met bill about 15 years ago on millers cottage caravan park in north wales.he was lost so i showed him where his caravan was.from then on we became firm friends,he would phone me every day and sing to me down the phone,always my sweet lady by john denver,and i loved him for it.yes there have been many tears shed over bill because he couldnt leave the evil drink alone,it ruled his life.such a shame for a very talented man.he was a larger than life man with a heart of gold,i remember when we use to laugh together,he would be drunk playing his guitar and singing but he would sing i cant remember the bloody words then we would all laugh together.i will never forget bill he will always remain in my heart.i just wish i could have got to see him one more time,love you bill keep playing your muisic and singing,cause i know you dont belong there in heaven,you should be with us.R.I.P BILL love christine xxxxxxx

My good friend bill died on the 29th July 2007,due to lack of forsight by his late mother Koula and the Spitefullness and Meaness of a cruel stepfather bill was not given a proper burial he deserves with a grave and headstone! , instead he's been put underground and forgotten about? But not by me - you deserve better than this mate your only crime was too become an alcoholic, and I for one feel ashamed at how your sister and stepfather have abandoned you to this Paupers Grave!.

My Mate Bill
I became really good friends with Bill whilst working at Royal Mail Birmingham one xmas during I believe 1998. We became good friends from there on.
Many an afternoon I would spend at Bills flat listening to his enthusiastic Guitar playing and sharing our love of Birmingham City.
I miss Bill, I miss his uniqueness and kind heartedness, a one off for sure,
